- Flowery Yoga-

  • Have you always wanted to create a centerpiece, a special gift or just make a beautiful floral arrangement for yourself?
  • Our Flowery Yoga workshops are designed to help you create your own fun 1-2-3 easy steps floral design for your special occasions. 
  • How can I create a simple yet elegant line design with flowers?

         How do I harmonize flower size, color and shape that will complement the theme?
  • How can I put a unique wrapping bouquet?

Join us for one of our floral design workshops and learn how to make your own beautiful arrangement. Each class is designed to accommodate various skill levels, from beginners to experienced designers. You'll learn to work with a bountiful array of high quality seasonal flowers, foliages, fruits and vegetables artistically designed in an elegant container. Our instructors will share wonderful hints and creative ideas for bringing the best of the season into your home, and then lead you as you create your own arrangement. Students take home their individual creations to keep or give as a gift. Make a party out of it and bring along a friend!


About Instructors

Jeanne Ha, AIFD, CFD

Jeanne is the owner of Park Florist and has been teaching her floral design classes for years and mentored and inspired numbers of floral designers. She is a member of American Institute of Floral Designer. She has Asian floral design back ground learned from her Aunt Wee Park, who has been an amazing floral designer and owner of Park Florist for 16 years. Jeanne studied with world most known floral designers, Hitomi Gilliam, AIFD, Mary Lind Horn, AIFD, Jim Johnson, AIFD, Lottie Nys, AIFD at Designing for Excellence program at Texas, 2007. She assisted various floral designers for their design shows such as Hitomi Gilliam. She attended Teleflora Life! educational program at Philadelphia, 2007 and studied with Marie Ackerman, AIFD, Hitomi Gilliam, AIFD, Kevin Ylvisaker, AIFD, just to name few. Jeanne also participated in numerous competitions such as the Capital Cup, Middle Atlantic Florists Association Competitions, and won the first place for a silk design in 2006. She attended the National Symposium of American Institute of Floral Designers in 2009 and is accredited as a certified designer. Currently Jeanne serves as secretary in the board of Teleflora MD-VA-CD unit.

Most of all, Jeanne enjoys teaching and has a real passion to show how one can create a beautiful flower design as seen in magazines. She is overflowering idea bank and has the technique to make them happen. She loves to share her passion with her students!

We’ve had so many requests for teen class, and yes, here we are, bringing you our first “teen class”! Park Florist’s own oh-so-talented Ms.Bethany will teach how to make these fashionable mini top hats. Come on girls, it’s your prom and dance season, if you want to be cool, this is really cool. You can bring your own special items to work with or you can work with marvelous stuff we will provide here. Come with your friends and family and have fun!

Spring blossoming branches are fantastic from our local farms! We will create some gorgeous tall pieces with beautiful blossoming branches and bring spring indoor! Imagine yourself arranging this tall head-turning piece. You are a real florist now!

“May Day Flower Basket”

April 30th Monday

Prepare your own May Day with this sweetest floral gift. The tradition of the ancient Roman and Druid holiday of May Day has been a celebration of spring turning into the pleasures of summer. Gathering flowers and branches became a tradition and "bringing in the May" became a popular activity on May 1. The baskets are often made by little children, filled with candy or flowers and then placed on people's doorsteps or tied to the door handle, as they ring the doorbell and dash away before they are caught. Make this special tradition yours with your little ones. Children are welcome with their parents.

“Mother & Daughter Time”

May 9th Wednesday

We invite the most beautiful pairs, mother & daughter, sisters, aunt & niece, best friends, to this special class. As we work on our beautiful selection of fresh flowers, we will enjoy our relaxed time together. This is true “flowery yoga” for all the strong bonded women. Come and create your own memory with your mom, sister, and friends.

“Floral Topiary”

June 6th Wednesday

This handsome topiary style floral design would make your friends so jealous! With simple tricks and techniques, you can create this cute topiary with beautiful flowers.

Tuition and Fee

There is $20 tuition for workshops and material fee is charged differently for each class as listed above. We offer 15% discount when you purchase more than 2 sessions at a time.  You can also save 15% when you and a friend sign up the same class together(both you and your friend).  Special holiday workshops are offered with free instruction.  For those workshops (as marked with * above), the course fee is for materials only.  Since holiday classes use high quality, rare and exotic flowers for almost the same amount of money as a regular class, this is an excellent bargain and our little holiday gift to you. Ask for the gift certificate if you'd like to buy the workshops as gift .

Registration

Class size is very limited for individual attention and pre-registration and pre-payment are required. Please call 301-270-1848 or email to Jeanne@ParkFlorist.us to register and we will confirm with you for your spot. We accept registration till the scheduled class date as long as we have space but we cannot accept walk-ins. Please call in or email and get confirmed before you come. Class can be canceled for inclement weather or low attendance and in that case, only the registered students will get noticed through emails and phone calls. If you want to be informed about the future classes, please also email Jeanne@ParkFlorist.us or call, so that we can put you in the list.
